1. How far out do you go?
The Captain works very hard to make sure he knows where the fish are. It is not uncommon to travel 7-15 miles away from shore. We do try to keep the travel time under one hour to maximize the fishing time. We will sometimes fisih in as deep as 120 feet or sometimes 20 feet. These depths are sometimes relatively close to eachother. We fish were the fish are.
2.What kind of fish do you catch?
Since we are bottom fishing, you will catch grunts, porgies, yellow tail snapper, mangrove snapper, mutton snapper, hog fish, red/black grouper, mackarel, shark and whatever thinks your bait looks tasty.
3. How much will this cost?
The regulare fare is $65.00. This includes:
Rod/Reel Tackle License Bait It is customary to tip the crew 20%, providing you feel they did an outstanding job. (The 20% is based on full fare, excluding discounts. We recommend $9.00-13.00 per person.)
The crew will clean your fish when the boat returns to the dock for .50 per fish.
4.What do I do with the fish after I catch it?
A majority of the local restaurants will cook your fish for you. Prices vary. Ask your crew what they recommend.
You can also ship your frozen fish to any US address. Supplies are availlable at all major grocery stores and shipping through FedEx, UPS or USPS.
5.What about food?
Sandra's galley is open one hour before departure and she has a wide variety of affordable snacks and drinks available for purchase. You are more than welcome to bring your own cooler, but watch out, galley wenches are known to bite.
Snacks Soda./Water/Juice/Coffee Hats/Sunglasses Cameras Hotdogs/Hamburgers If you forgot it, Sandra has it!
6. Can I bring my own rod and tackle box?
Yes, as long as your tackle box isnt the size of a small pick-up truck. We encourage you to bring your own gear. Braid is ok.
7. What if I don't know how to fish?
Everyone has to learn sometime! Why not let us show you the ropes. If you have any special requests, please call us so we have time to prepare.
